Why Recycle Holiday Lights?

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge for Christmas lights recycling?
No! Holiday lights recycling is completely FREE at EverTrade Electronics. There are no fees, no minimum quantities, and no charges of any kind.
What months can I drop off holiday lights?
We accept holiday lights year-round, 365 days a year (except Sundays and major holidays when we’re closed). Unlike seasonal programs that only operate December-January, you can bring lights any time during our regular business hours.
Do I need to remove the bulbs from the string lights?
No preparation is needed. Bring your lights exactly as they are โ tangled, in boxes, in bags, with or without bulbs. We’ll handle the recycling process.
Can I recycle LED lights too?
Absolutely! We accept all types of holiday string lights including traditional incandescent bulbs, LED lights, and any other decorative lighting technologies.
Do you accept broken lights or do they need to work?
We accept both working and non-working lights. In fact, recycling broken lights is one of the best uses for our service!
Is there a limit to how many lights I can drop off?
For typical household quantities, there’s no limit. If you have commercial quantities or multiple vehicles full, please call ahead at (832) 777-3002 so we can prepare for your arrival.
Do you recycle Halloween lights or just Christmas lights?
We recycle all holiday string lights including Christmas, Halloween, and any other seasonal decorative lighting throughout the year.
What do you do with the lights after recycling?
The lights are processed to recover valuable copper wire and other recyclable materials. These materials are then sent to specialized facilities for remanufacturing into new products.
Can I get paid for my old Christmas lights?
We provide free recycling as a community service but do not pay for residential quantities of lights. Some scrap metal buyers will pay for large commercial quantities, but for typical household amounts, our free drop-off service is the most convenient option.
Does Fort Bend County Recycling Center accept Christmas lights?
No, the Fort Bend County Recycling Center on Blume Road in Rosenberg does not accept Christmas tree lights or wrapping paper. EverTrade Electronics is one of the few year-round options in Fort Bend County for holiday lights recycling.
