What to Do with Old Computer Parts

Old CPUs, dead GPUs, mismatched RAM sticks, and boxes of cables don't belong in the trash. Computer components contain valuable metals (gold, palladium, copper, aluminum) and hazardous materials (lead, mercury) that need proper handling. EverTrade recycles every component responsibly and recovers maximum material value.

How Computer Parts Are Recycled

1

Sorting & Testing

Components are sorted by type and tested for functionality. Working parts may be refurbished for reuse.

2

Data Destruction

All storage devices (hard drives, SSDs, USB drives) are wiped per NIST 800-88 or physically destroyed.

3

Material Recovery

Circuit boards are processed for gold, palladium, silver, and copper. Aluminum heatsinks and steel cases are separated for metal recycling.

4

Responsible Disposal

Hazardous components (batteries, CRT glass, capacitors) are handled by certified processors. Zero landfill.

Computer Parts FAQ

Is computer parts recycling free?

Yes. Drop-off is free for all residents at our Sugar Land facility. Business pickup is free for qualifying quantities (typically a box or more of components).

Can I recycle just a few old CPUs or sticks of RAM?

Absolutely. We accept any quantity, even a single component. No minimum required for drop-off.

Do you pay for old computer parts?

For large quantities of high-value components (CPUs, GPUs, server RAM, complete systems), we may offer compensation. Contact us with details for a quote.

What about old gaming PCs or custom builds?

We accept complete systems and individual components. Gaming PCs, workstations, home servers, mining rigs, any PC configuration.

Should I remove the hard drive before recycling?

You can, but you don't need to. We perform NIST 800-88 data destruction on all storage devices. If you prefer to keep your drive, just remove it before drop-off.
