Use this list to read a certificate of destruction you already have. It does not look up EverTrade records and it does not confirm that a file is genuine.

• Serial numberThe certificate names the serial number of the drive or other storage media.
• Media typeThe certificate names the media type, such as a hard drive, SSD, or tape.
• Sanitization methodThe certificate names the sanitization method. This checklist does not tell you which method a vendor used.
• DateThe certificate shows the date the media was processed.
• SignerA person responsible for the record is named.
• Chain-of-custody referenceThe certificate includes a chain-of-custody or job reference you can match to your paperwork.
