Check the equipment that may still hold data before you recycle it. This is general guidance. It is not an inventory of your site.

Laptops and desktopsThe internal drive may still hold files after you delete them.
CopiersMany copiers keep copies of documents on an internal drive.
PrintersSome printers and multifunction machines store jobs on a drive.
PhonesBack up a working phone and erase it yourself before drop-off. On an iPhone, use Erase All Content and Settings.
TabletsBack up a working tablet and erase it yourself before drop-off.
Routers and switchesThese can store configuration, logs, and credentials.
Medical devicesThese may store patient information. Ask the facility that owns the device before recycling it.
USB and external drivesTreat every external drive as if it still holds files.
ServersServer drives are the usual place business records remain.

Drives from computers and servers are wiped at EverTrade's Sugar Land facility per a NIST SP 800-88-aligned process. End-of-life drives are physically disabled in-house.
